Wynwood Mural Fest
Project type
Mural
Date
December 2025
Location
Miami
Miss Bermudian was created for the Wynwood Mural Fest as a way to bring the spirit of Bermuda to Miami. The mural is inspired by a photograph by Kayla Nicole Photos from a Lovebomb Design Studio shoot, featuring Bermudian singer Sinead the Flower with a hibiscus, an image that beautifully captures the energy, color, and everyday cultural expression of the island. Through bold color, portraiture, and symbolic elements, the work reflects my personal vision of home.
The mural incorporates Bermudian architectural lines, a traditional Bermuda roof, and kites as cultural touchpoints, alongside my “Happy Bermudiana” logo, which represents the warmth, pride, and joy of Bermudian people. Created over two days, the mural was executed in collaboration with my brother, Nahshon Hollis, a Bermudian oil painter, and Kennedy Ringgold, a Baltimore-based muralist and fellow MICA alum. This collaboration during Miami Art Basel allowed me to explore new approaches to realism while celebrating Bermudian creativity across photography, fashion, music, and design.
